Farewell from Noteworthy

Noteworthy came about when four friends met singing in a production of Carmen with Maidenhead Operatic Society in 2010. Since 2011, when Liz had the bright idea of coming together as a quartet, Noteworthy have performed in over 60 concerts both publicly, for charity and for private bookings, performing close on 1000 numbers as quartets, solos, duos and trios. On the 21st of June Cat, Liz, James & William performed together as Noteworthy for the final time.

The past 6 years performing together has had its highs and lows. There have been challenging times, but mostly hugely rewarding, fun and memorable experiences. Our diverse repertoire, ranging from the 18th to the 21st centuries and encompassing genres from grand opera to musicals via art songs and everything in between, has been met with a great deal of enthusiasm and praise from our audiences.

Unfortunately, all good things eventually come to an end. Liz and James will be heading off to France to start a new and exciting chapter in their lives. William has just finished the first year of a postgraduate course in performance and opera at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and hopes to pursue a career as a professional musician. Cat, who still lives in Maidenhead, is raising a wonderful young family and is still very much involved in the musical life of the area!

Finally, we would like to send a heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us and encouraged our quartet over the past 6 years. There are far too many people to name individually, but we are grateful to every single one of you. You’ll understand we cannot pass the opportunity to thank our accompanists in particular; Roger Witney, Graham Barker, Tim Cumper, John Chantry and Tim Rhys-Morgan. It’s been a blast!
